Proof the job is done, receipts and no-signal mode in the tech app

When a tech closes out a job, the tech app collects the proof that settles any "the work wasn't done" argument later.

Photos, signature, name

At the bottom of the Closing card:

  1. Photos of the finished job. Tap the button and take one or more pictures.
  2. Customer signs here. The customer signs with a finger on the tech's phone.
  3. Name of the person who signed. Typed by the tech.
  4. No signature? If nobody was home, the tech says why instead.

Everything goes to the office with the closing. The office sees the signature, the photos and the receipt next to the money before approving it.

Make it required

The owner can switch on proof.require on the System page. With it on, a closing can't be sent without at least one photo of the finished work and either a signature or a reason there wasn't one.

AI photo check

When the closing comes in, AI looks at the photos of the finished work and writes one or two lines for the office: what the photos show, and anything that looks wrong (damage, a mess left behind, work that looks unfinished, a safety problem). It shows on the closing and in the job's history. It only describes what's in the photos. It never approves or declines anything.

Scan the parts receipt

Next to Parts cost, tap Scan the parts receipt and take a picture of the receipt. AI reads the total and what was bought and fills in the parts cost and the parts list. The tech checks it before sending. The receipt photo goes to the office with the closing.

No signal

Basements, rural roads, dead zones. If the tech taps On my way, files a diagnosis, reschedules or sends a closing with no signal, the tech app keeps it on the phone and sends it by itself when the signal comes back. A bar at the top shows how many updates are waiting.

Photos and signatures need signal to upload. The tech app says so if they can't go yet.

"On my way" texts

The owner can switch on texting.onmyway on the System page. When a tech taps On my way, the customer gets one text from the job's own company: "Your technician is on the way and should be there in about 17 minutes." The text never includes the tech's own number. It needs your texting account connected.

Questions

Does the AI use my data to train?

AI runs on Anthropic's Claude (through the AI Dispatcher add-on, the free trial or your own key), and Anthropic doesn't train on API data by default. Only the photo or receipt being read is sent, and only at that moment.

Can a tech change a closing after the office approves it?

No. Once approved, the tech has to call the office to change it.
