Missed call cost calculator
Every call that rings out is a job that might go to the next company on Google. Put in your own numbers and see what missed calls cost you in a month and in a year. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Not sure? Most phone systems show answered vs missed calls. Count one normal week.
What missed calls cost you
How the math works
- Missed calls a month = calls per week × weeks open ÷ 12 × share unanswered.
- Lost callers = missed calls × share who never call back.
- Jobs lost = lost callers × the share of answered calls that turn into a job. A caller who never got through can't book, so we use your normal booking rate.
- Revenue lost = jobs lost × average ticket.
- Jobs to cover an AI dispatcher = $149 ÷ average ticket, rounded up.
Questions
How many calls do service businesses miss?
It depends on the shop. Owners who answer from the truck and offices that close at 5 PM miss the most: nights, weekends and the lunch rush. Your own call log is the only number that counts, so pull one week and put it in above.
Do callers really not call back?
Many don't. Someone with no heat or a leaking pipe calls the next number on the list. The calculator lets you set that share yourself.
How do I stop missing calls?
Ring more than one phone at once, send calls nobody picks up to an answering service, or let an AI dispatcher answer when the team can't. Nellie answers DispatchMind Phone numbers 24/7 and books the visit right onto your schedule. You can call her yourself at 844-8-NELLIE.
