Bring your jobs over from another app
Switching apps shouldn't mean starting from zero. DispatchMind takes the CSV export from your old app (or any spreadsheet) and turns every row into a job. Your customers come in with their jobs.
1. Export from your old app
Most field service apps have an export button on the jobs list. Export jobs (not just clients) as a CSV file, with as many columns as it offers: job number, customer name, phone, email, address, status, total, balance due and the appointment date.
Big history? Export a few years at a time. Each file can be up to 25 MB.
2. Pick the file
- An owner or admin opens the account menu (top right), then Import jobs from another app.
- Pick the CSV file.
- DispatchMind guesses which column is which from the headings. Check each one and change any it got wrong. The first five rows show underneath so you can see it's right.
- Tap Import.
What happens to each row
- Canceled jobs are skipped. They never show or count in DispatchMind.
- Closed jobs come in with nothing owed, so nobody chases work that was paid long ago. The old total stays on the job as a note.
- Open jobs keep their balance due (or the job total when the file has no balance column).
- Statuses are matched to DispatchMind's: Submitted, In progress, Pending, Done pending approval and Done.
- Every job gets a note saying which file it came from and its old job number. Imported job numbers start with I (old job 1042 becomes I1042), so they never clash with your new ones.
- Names written "Carter, James" come in as "James Carter".
Run it again any time
Importing the same file twice never adds a job twice. If an import stops halfway (a dropped connection, say), pick the same file and import again: what's already in stays, the rest comes in.
Questions
Can I import customers without jobs?
Not yet. Customers come in with their jobs. Write to support@dispatchmind.ai if you need a customer-only import.
Will my techs see the old jobs?
Techs only see jobs assigned to them. Imported jobs aren't assigned to anyone.
Still stuck?
Write to support@dispatchmind.ai and say what you were trying to do. Check the status page first if something isn't loading.
