Inventory and truck stock

DispatchMind keeps count of your parts in main stock and on each tech's truck. Techs pick the parts they used from their own truck when they send the closing, and the parts come off the truck when you approve it. You always know what's on hand, what's on the road and what to order.

Set up your stock

Open Inventory from the menu and add each part you keep: name, part number, your cost, how many you have, and when to reorder. Pick from your price book so the name and picture match your estimates.

Put parts on a truck

Press Move on a part, or Move stock on the Trucks tab. Pick where it comes from (main stock or a truck), where it goes, and how many. The total on hand doesn't change, only where the parts are. Every move stays on the part's history.

On the Stock tab, each part shows how many are in main stock and how many are on trucks.

Decide what each truck carries

On the Trucks tab, press What each truck carries and set a number for the parts that ride on every truck. Leave the rest blank. Each truck then shows what it's short. Load the truck fills it back up from main stock in one tap. If main stock runs out, DispatchMind tells you what it couldn't load, and Reorder what's low drafts the purchase orders.

How techs use it

On the closing in the tech app, Parts from my truck lists what's on that tech's truck. The tech taps + for each part used on the job. A tech can't take more than the truck holds.

Nothing comes off the truck when the tech sends the closing. It comes off when you approve the closing, and the job history says what was taken and from which truck. If you send the closing back, nothing moves.

Questions

Can I still use a part from main stock on a job?

Yes. Press Use on a job on the Inventory page. The part comes off main stock and its cost goes on that job.

What if a count is wrong?

Press Adjust on the part and say why: recount, damaged, returned. The change stays on the part's history.
