Rosie AI Receptionist Alternative: DispatchMind

By the DispatchMind team · Updated 10/12/2026 · 6 min read

If you're looking for a Rosie AI receptionist alternative, the main difference is this: Rosie is an AI answering service priced by minutes, while DispatchMind is a full job system with an AI dispatcher that books into the real schedule your techs work from. Rosie runs $49 to $299 a month depending on minutes. Nellie, DispatchMind's AI dispatcher, is $149 a month flat on any plan and speaks 18 languages.

The short version

Rosie is easy to start, cheap at the low end, and has a 7-day free trial. It learns from your Google profile and website, answers in English and Spanish, and sends you summaries of every call. If you need simple answering for a small business, it does the job. If you want calls turned into jobs on a real schedule, with techs, invoices and payments in the same place, and a price that doesn't climb when you get busy, DispatchMind is the better fit.

Pricing

Rosie plans as of October 2026, from its pricing page (monthly billing):

Annual billing gives 2 months free. Rosie's terms say minutes are billed in 60-second increments, rounded up.

DispatchMind plans (as of October 2026):

Worked example: a shop with an owner, one office person and 3 techs. Starter at $79, plus 3 tech logins at $15 each ($45), plus Nellie at $149 comes to $273 a month. That's the job system, tech app and 24/7 AI booking. On Rosie, calendar booking starts on the $149 Scale plan, and you'd still need a separate system for jobs, techs and invoices. Start paying DispatchMind by 12/31/2026 and the 2026 price lock keeps those prices as long as you stay subscribed.

What happens when you go over

This is the part to read before you sign up. Rosie doesn't charge a per-minute overage. Its terms say instead that if you use more minutes than your plan includes in a month, "Rosie will automatically upgrade the Subscriber to a higher Subscription Plan." The terms add that you stay on the higher plan "unless and until Subscriber downgrades."

The terms also say plan changes that add fees apply to the current billing period "and at least the subsequent two consecutive billing periods." And they put watching usage on you: "Subscriber is responsible for monitoring Services Minutes usage."

In plain terms: one busy month on the $149 Scale plan can move you to the $299 Growth plan for that month and at least the next two. Payments are non-refundable for partial periods.

Nellie is $149 a month flat. A busy month doesn't change the price.

AI answering: Rosie vs. Nellie

Credit where it's due. Rosie is quick to set up because it learns from your Google profile and website. It has 10+ voices, a custom greeting, call summaries, transcripts and recordings, text and email alerts for every call, and a Zapier connection to 1,000+ apps. It's used by over 2,000 small businesses, by its own count, across plumbing, HVAC, construction and more.

Nellie is a dispatcher, not just a receptionist. She answers 24/7, books and moves visits on your real schedule, picks the tech, and answers questions in plain English. She checks with the owner before anything involving money or big changes. She greets callers in your company's language and switches to the caller's, across 18 languages, not just English and Spanish. Call the demo line at 844-8-NELLIE to hear her.

Because Nellie lives inside DispatchMind, a booked call is already a job. It's on the dispatch board, in the tech's app, and on a job page with estimates, invoices, card payments through your own Stripe account, and the call recording.

How to switch

  1. Check your renewal date. Rosie renews every 30 days. If you were auto-upgraded, note how long the higher plan applies.
  2. Save what you need. Download any call recordings or transcripts you want to keep, and export customers and jobs from your current job system.
  3. Start the trial and import. Start the 14-day DispatchMind trial and bring in your data, or email support and we'll move it in (free on Business).
  4. Move your number. Port your business number to DispatchMind Phone, or forward it to Nellie.
  5. Run side by side. Send after-hours calls to Nellie first, check her bookings, then move the rest over and cancel Rosie before the next renewal.
