FieldEdge Alternatives for HVAC and Service Shops

By the DispatchMind team · Updated 10/12/2026 · 6 min read

The best FieldEdge alternatives are ServiceTitan if you're a large HVAC company that wants more, Housecall Pro if you want published prices and marketing tools, Service Fusion if you want unlimited users, and DispatchMind if you want a dispatch board, a phone system, QuickBooks and month to month billing with prices you can see. FieldEdge is a long-standing HVAC and plumbing tool with a strong QuickBooks connection and flat-rate pricing. The usual reasons people look around: no published prices, no free trial, and what reviewers call a dated interface. Facts below are as of October 2026.

How FieldEdge pricing works

FieldEdge has three plans: Select, Premier (labeled most popular) and Elite. As of October 2026, its pricing page doesn't show prices. Every plan says to request pricing, and several add-ons say call for pricing.

What FieldEdge does well

The included feature list is long. Every plan has call booking, work orders, scheduling, reporting, tech time tracking, invoices, a price book with flat-rate pricing, purchasing, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, integrated payments, customer history, texting, custom forms, alerts, reminders, lead tracking and an onboarding specialist.

Premier adds advanced dispatching, multi-option quotes, advanced service agreements, performance and commission tracking and prospect tracking. Elite adds unlimited saved reports, outbound call recording, two-way texting through MarketingEdge, a customer portal and warehouse inventory (for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise users with Advanced Inventory).

For an HVAC shop that runs its books in QuickBooks and sells service agreements, that's a strong fit.

On Capterra, FieldEdge holds a 4.1 out of 5 from about 310 reviews as of October 2026. Reviewers like how it keeps scheduling, dispatch and invoicing in one place, the QuickBooks connection, and quick support. The complaints: an interface that feels dated, a learning curve for techs, sync delays in the mobile app and occasional bugs. Value for money is its lowest score.

5 FieldEdge alternatives, by who they fit

ServiceTitan: if you're big and want everything

ServiceTitan prices per technician and doesn't publish numbers as of October 2026. Its plans are Starter, Essentials and The Works, with commission tracking, configurable payroll, advanced reporting and memberships on the top plan. It's aimed at larger shops with an office team to run it. Our ServiceTitan alternatives post covers who it fits and who it's too much for.

Housecall Pro: if you want prices up front

Basic is $79 for one user, Essentials $189 for 5 and Max $329 for 8, with $35 per extra user on Max, billed monthly. Yearly is lower. The trial is 14 days with full Max access. It's strong on online booking and review requests. See our Housecall Pro alternatives breakdown.

Service Fusion: if you have a big team

Unlimited users on every plan. Starter is $245, Plus $382, Pro $627 a month billed monthly, about 15% off yearly. No contract. Starter includes QuickBooks, scheduling, dispatch and reporting. Plus adds inventory, job costing and voice and text. For 20 or more people, the flat bill is hard to beat.

FieldPulse: if you want a workflow fit

FieldPulse is seat-based and quote-only. It covers the HVAC basics plus maintenance agreements, asset management, inventory and custom forms, with a phone system and an AI dispatcher sold separately. It's rated 4.6 on Capterra, with praise for scheduling and support.

DispatchMind: if you want to see the price and run the board

DispatchMind is one app for the phone, the schedule, techs in the field, estimates, invoices, payments and the numbers. HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair are among its 80+ trades.

Plans: Starter $79 (2 office logins), Team $179 (5, adds reports and automations), Pro $299 (10, adds commissions, tech access levels and collections), Business $499 (20, adds queues, priority support and a free data move-in). Tech logins are $15 a month each. Yearly gets 2 months free. Month to month, no contract. A 5-person HVAC shop with 2 office people and 3 techs on Team pays $224 a month.

Where it lines up with what FieldEdge customers use:

What to know: the iPhone app is on the App Store and it runs in any browser, but the Android app is on the way. FieldEdge has more depth on warehouse inventory and a longer history in HVAC. For more on what an HVAC dispatcher needs, see our HVAC dispatch software guide.

When to stay on FieldEdge

Stay if QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise inventory runs your warehouse and Elite ties into it. Stay if your service agreements and flat-rate book are built out and your techs know the app. Stay if you're mid-contract; leaving early rarely saves money.

Look around if you can't get a straight price, if the mobile app's sync delays slow your techs, if you want to test software before you sign, or if you'd rather pay month to month.
