How to Cancel Workiz: Notice Rules, Export and Porting
To cancel Workiz, you send a written termination notice to cancel@workiz.com. Under the Workiz terms, plans run on a 12-month term that renews automatically for another 12 months unless you give notice at least 30 days before the term ends, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term. Before you send that email, export your data and start moving your phone numbers, because access ends when the term does.
Everything below comes from Workiz's own terms and help center as of October 2026. Your signed order form or contract overrides the public terms, so check it first. Check their site and terms for current details.
Before you cancel: a checklist
- Find your contract and renewal date. Find your order form and term end date. Set a reminder more than 30 days before it. That's your notice deadline.
- Export your data. Customers, jobs, invoices and payments, while you still have full access.
- Port your phone numbers first. If your business numbers live in Workiz Phone, start the port at your new provider before you cancel anything.
- Settle payouts and balances. Workiz says you can't terminate until everything owed to Workiz, its payment processor Adyen and any loan partners is paid. If you take payments through Workiz, ask their support whether any funds are held and when your last payout lands.
- Run the new system side by side. A couple of weeks of overlap keeps jobs from slipping.
Step by step
- Read your agreement. Confirm your term end date and whether you pay monthly or annually. Workiz's billing FAQ says all plans are purchased on annual contracts, even when payments are monthly.
- Export your data (see below).
- Start any phone number ports with your new provider.
- Send written notice to cancel@workiz.com. Include your company name, owner name and account email, and say clearly you are giving notice of non-renewal and termination.
- Keep the confirmation. Save Workiz's reply and your sent email.
- Remove numbers you no longer need. Workiz's billing FAQ says numbers left on the account keep billing until you remove them (Workiz Phone > Numbers > trash icon). Only delete a number after it has finished porting, or if you're sure you don't need it.
For plan changes like a downgrade, the billing FAQ says to contact your account manager. If anything about your situation is unclear, ask their support.
Notice periods, refunds and contracts
From the Workiz Terms and Conditions (last updated 02/19/2026, checked 10/12/2026):
| Section | What it says |
|---|---|
| §18.1 | 12-month term, renews automatically for 12-month periods unless written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the term ends |
| §18.4 | You terminate by emailing cancel@workiz.com; effective at the end of the current term; prepaid fees not refunded; amounts due for the term remain due |
| §13.1 | Fees are non-cancelable and non-refundable |
| §13.2 | Workiz may raise fees up to 10% a year with 30 days written notice |
| §19 | After termination you lose access; you are responsible for backing up your content; Workiz may permanently delete it |
The billing FAQ also lists a $25 fee for payment disputes. In plain terms: miss the 30-day window and you are likely in for another 12 months. If your order form says otherwise, it wins.
Get your data out
As of October 2026, here is what the Workiz help center shows:
- Reports: open a custom report, then Actions > Export as > PDF or CSV. Build reports for jobs, invoices and payments and export each one.
- Clients: the newer client reports include an "All clients" report, but the help center notes it is part of a beta program. If you don't see it, ask their support how to export your full client list.
- Messages: Message Center > ⋮ menu > Export chat. This saves one conversation at a time as a .txt file.
- Invoices and estimates: download them one at a time.
We did not find a documented bulk export for your price book, job photos or call recordings. If you need those, ask their support before you cancel, and download anything critical by hand.
Keep your phone number
If your numbers are with Workiz Phone, you can move them out. Per the Workiz porting article:
- Contact your new phone provider first and tell them you want to port in a number.
- Ask Workiz support for a port-out. They email you the CSR (account holder name and service address), Account SID and a port-out PIN for US numbers. The porting team is at porting@workiz.com.
- Give those details to your new provider, who submits the port.
- The number stays live in Workiz until the port completes.
- After the port completes, delete the number from Workiz so it stops billing.
Never cancel your Workiz account before your numbers finish porting. A canceled account can mean a lost number.
What happens after you cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current term. After that, per §19, you lose access to the service and Workiz may permanently delete your content. Any amounts still owed under the term stay due. Workiz does not promise to keep your data for any set period, so treat your export as your only copy.
