ServiceTitan vs DispatchMind: Cost, Contract, Setup
If you run a large HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop with 15+ techs, a call center and a marketing team, ServiceTitan is built for you and may still be the right call. If you're a small or mid-size shop that wants to be live this week, see the price on the website, pay no setup fee and stay month to month, pick DispatchMind. The difference is less about features and more about how you buy, how long it takes to get running, and what it costs to leave.
The short version
ServiceTitan is the deepest platform in the trades. Price books, memberships, marketing attribution, a call center and heavy reporting, plus newer AI products. DispatchMind covers the daily work of a service company (jobs, dispatch, estimates, invoices, phone, tech app, commissions and an AI dispatcher named Nellie) at a price you can see before you talk to anyone.
Here's how they compare as of October 2026. Some ServiceTitan numbers come from third-party estimates and are labeled. Check ServiceTitan's site and your order form for current details.
| ServiceTitan | DispatchMind | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Quote only, priced per technician. Third-party estimates: about $245 to $500 per tech a month | Published. Starter $79, Team $179, Pro $299, Business $499 a month |
| Contract | Most customers sign an order form whose term controls. Ending early: fee equal to all remaining payments | Month to month. Owner cancels inside the app any time |
| Trial | Demo only (third-party) | 14 days, everything on, no card, plus 30-day money-back on the first charge |
| AI phone | AI products Max and Atlas. Quote only | Nellie, $149 a month add-on, free during the trial |
| Phone system | Call center tools; numbers can be ported out | DispatchMind Phone: numbers, calls and texts, dialer rings up to 5 at once, recordings on the job, call masking |
| Payments | Quoted with the platform. Ask sales | Your own Stripe account. Money goes to your Stripe |
| Tech logins | Pricing is per technician | Tech app logins $15 each, with access levels you set |
| Moving in | Setup fees about $5,000 to $50,000 and 2 to 12 months to go live (third-party) | Import your CSV yourself in minutes, or we move it in for you (free on Business). No setup fee |
Who ServiceTitan is for
ServiceTitan is built for big residential and commercial shops, usually 15 techs and up, with dedicated dispatchers, CSRs, a marketing budget and someone who owns the software. In that setting the depth pays off: detailed price books by business unit, memberships, marketing attribution down to the call, and reporting a CFO will like. Many large companies run on it and do well.
If that's you, the setup time and the contract are part of buying a serious system. Go in with your eyes open on the terms below.
Price: per-tech quote vs. published plans
ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page asks you to talk to sales, and pricing is per technician. Third-party estimates (Projul and FieldProxy, both of which sell or compare competing software) put it around $245 to $500 per tech per month depending on tier, with a setup fee of $5,000 to $50,000.
Run the math on a 10-tech shop at those estimates: $2,450 to $5,000 a month before setup. DispatchMind Pro is $299 a month with 10 office logins, and 10 tech app logins at $15 each add $150, for $449 a month. Add Nellie at $149 and you're at $598. That's not an apples-to-apples feature match. ServiceTitan does more for big shops. But it shows the size of the gap for a shop that doesn't need all of it.
DispatchMind's plans: Starter $79 (2 office logins), Team $179 (5, adds reports and automations), Pro $299 (10, adds commissions and tech pay, tech access levels and collections), Business $499 (20, adds queues, priority support and a free data move-in). Extra office logins are $29. Yearly gets you 2 months free. And if you start paying by 12/31/2026, you keep your starting prices for as long as you stay subscribed.
Going live: months vs. this week
Third-party estimates say ServiceTitan takes 2 to 12 months to go live, with no free trial, just a demo. For a large shop that's a real project with a real team behind it.
DispatchMind is built so you can be running the same week. Start a 14-day trial with everything on and no card. Import your customers and jobs from a spreadsheet or CSV in minutes: statuses line up, open balances come over, canceled jobs stay behind, and re-running a file never doubles anything. On Business, we move your data in for you for free. There's no setup fee on any plan.
The contract: read your order form
This is where owners get surprised. ServiceTitan's Terms of Use (updated 09/16/2026) say most customers sign an order form, and the order form's term controls. Accounts on the terms alone are month to month with 30 days written notice.
Section 5(c) is the important one: ending early means a termination fee equal to all remaining payments. Paid users can't be removed before the end of the period they were added for. Under section 5(e), ServiceTitan isn't obliged to keep your data more than 60 days after termination, and an export after that point is on request and may cost a service fee.
How big can that get? FieldCamp, a competitor, cites BBB complaints showing early-exit demands of $67,230, $32,160 and $16,121. Treat that as a competitor's write-up, but the terms themselves are clear. Some Capterra reviewers also mention locked contracts, a kept setup fee and price increases, one writing about "jacking our pricing up 35%."
DispatchMind is month to month with no contract. The owner cancels from Plan and billing inside the app. Cancel within 30 days of your first paid charge and that charge is refunded in full (once per company).
Who should pick ServiceTitan
- You have 15+ techs, a call center and a marketing team that needs attribution.
- You have someone to own the software and the rollout.
- You're comfortable signing an order form with a fixed term in exchange for depth.
Who should pick DispatchMind
- You want to be live this week, not next quarter.
- You want to see the price, pay no setup fee and stay month to month.
- You want a tech app, commissions and tech pay, a dialer and an AI dispatcher without paying per tech for the whole platform.
- You want card payments in your own Stripe account.
How to switch from ServiceTitan
- Pull your order form and find the end of the term. If you're mid-contract, leaving early may cost all remaining payments, so plan the move for the end date.
- Export customers (Search > Customers > Expand > Export to Excel) and your price book (Pricebook > Import/Export > Export, one file per business unit). Do it well before termination, because data isn't kept past 60 days.
- Start your DispatchMind trial and import. See moving your data in.
- Port your numbers before you cancel. Your new provider submits the port; you'll need a screenshot of Settings > Phone Numbers, a recent invoice and your Tenant ID as the account number.
- Run both side by side, then send written notice (billing@servicetitan.com) and keep the confirmation.
